SPARK uses artificial intelligence (“AI”) to power your personalized learning experience, including adaptive content sequencing, the ARIA learning assistant, hints and explanations, and mastery assessment. This notice summarizes how AI is used in SPARK. It supplements, and should be read together with, the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
How AI is used in SPARK
- Adapting the order and difficulty of content to your goals and progress;
- Powering the ARIA learning assistant, which answers questions and provides hints and explanations;
- Generating practice items, feedback, and study guidance; and
- Estimating your mastery of skills to guide what comes next.
Combined human and AI-generated content
SPARK course content is created using a combination of human subject-matter expertise and AI. AI-assisted output is informational and is meant to support your learning. It may sometimes be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, so you should exercise independent judgment and verify important information.
Not professional advice; no guarantee of results
AI-assisted recommendations are not a substitute for professional academic advising, career counseling, or financial guidance. SPARK is designed to help prepare you for tests and exams, but it does not guarantee any particular score, passing result, credit, or certification.
How your data is used with AI
AI features operate on your profile, activity, and conversation data to generate personalized guidance. We may use this data to improve the accuracy and quality of SPARK’s own features. We do not use your learning behavior or conversations to train AI models that other organizations consume, and we do not permit our AI service providers to use your data to train their general-purpose models. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Your choices
You can manage available AI and data preferences in the AI settings and Privacy settings sections of SPARK.
