This page explains how to delete your SPARK account and the personal information associated with it. It applies to both the SPARK website and the SPARK mobile app.
Delete your account in the app
The fastest way to delete your account is from within SPARK:
- Mobile app: open Settings → Delete account, then type the confirmation phrase to confirm.
- Website: open Settings → Privacy and choose Delete account.
What happens when you delete
When you confirm deletion, your account is deactivated immediately and a 30-day grace period begins, during which you can cancel and reactivate. After 30 days, deletion is permanent: your personal information is removed, including your profile, learning progress, assessment results, tutor conversations, and notes.
A few records are kept as allowed or required by law: certificates you earned are retained as proof of issuance with your name removed, and certain records may be kept in de-identified form where required by law or by the U.S. Department of War or your sponsoring organization’s policy. If you cannot access the app
If you are unable to sign in, you can request account and data deletion by emailing support@sparkcourses.org from the address associated with your account. We will verify your request and process it within a reasonable time, subject to the retention exceptions above. If your access was provided through a sponsoring program, we may coordinate your request with that program.
You can also request a copy of your data from the same Settings area before deleting your account.
